Rant inside/ Have a whatever this is that I found during SEMA setup.
So I spent my entire weekend setting up for SEMA. Got home last night, took my bike for a ride and found out that a zip tie broke off and the wires from the stator (alternator for non motorcycle people) were rubbing into the chain. Yay, shorted out all my electronics...
Then I get to work today, Its slow season, so I am bored to tears, and the first two people I talk to are cry babies... Oh, and the coffee at work sucks. So I'm tired, annoyed, and grumpy.
Screw off Monday.

Wow. Seems like a stupid thing to run main wires so close to chain. What bike is this?

Stator is directly in front of the sprocket, the wires come out of the case directly over the chain. Terrible design but its 30 some years old.

Radical new Catfish concept for SEMA: passenger will no longer be killed in a rollover.

I remembered seeing something about a fish as I glanced over this.
